Jenny Barruol is a French-British self-shooting documentary director based in London. In 2026, she was nominated for a Student Academy Award and a Grierson Award for Best Student Documentary for her film 'Corps à Coeur' ('Body to Heart'). Over the years, she has made documentaries about subjects such as eating disorders, Alzheimer's disease, domestic violence and animal therapy. 

 

Through her films, she conveys personal journeys of resilience through an intimate, observational and poetic style of documentary. She is particularly drawn to stories surrounding our bodies, our minds, fragmentation and healing. ​Jenny is a graduate from the National Film and TV School in Directing Documentary and a graduate from the University of Bristol in Modern Languages (Spanish and Russian).
